These drawings are of office parks I documented while living in Los Gatos, Calfornia during Fall of 2014. The office or business park campus model traces it’s roots to Sir Ebenezer Howard’s “garden city” (envisioned in 1898 as an antidote to industrialized London). This idealistic plan is ¬†melded with the university campus model, but instead of getting the combination of bucolic with practical (nature with work and living space) the office park devolves into a landscape devoid of humans, air conditioned, sterile spaces where the outdoors are kept firmly at bay.
